Who do we provide food to?

Anyone! Everyone needs a little help from time to time—that’s why we’re here! We provide a food hamper with approximately 7 days' worth of food once per calendar month to any individuals and families who need it.


How can I get food from the Food Bank?

Whitehorse: Visit our facility at 306B Alexander Street during food pick-up hours. We will ask you to fill out a form and show ID on your first visit. After that, you can receive a hamper once per month.

Communities: Programs differ in each community, but the Food Bank sends shelf stable food each month to many of them. Contact our Community Operations Manager to find out what is happening in your community and how to get connected.

How often can I get food?

Clients can collect a food hamper once per calendar month: for example, you can pick up once in September, once in October, once in November, etc.

The hamper contains approximately seven days of food. Hampers in Whitehorse may have fresh produce and dairy items. Hampers in communities are limited to shelf stable items.

What kind of things do you provide?

Whitehorse: We provide all kinds of food and supplies. You will receive non-perishables: canned tuna, tomato sauce, rice, pasta, crackers, and mac ‘n’ cheese. We also provide meat, vegetables, and milk and fruit for children. Additionally, we have some toiletries (for example: garbage bags, diapers, and toilet paper) and other household items.

Communities: You will receive non perishables like canned tuna, tomato sauce, rice, pasta, crackers, peanut butter, mac n cheese.


Where and when can I pick up food?

Whitehorse: Our location is 306 Alexander Street in Whitehorse.

Our pick up times are:
Tuesday and Thursday: 10:00am-12:45pm and 3:00pm-4:45pm
Wednesday: 10:00am-12:45pm (families)
